To keep your vermeil jewellery in perfect condition, it is advisable to take care of it and remove it before: washing your hands, showering, bathing, doing sport, or going to bed. Indeed, perspiration, sea water, chlorine, creams, perfumes, and hand sanitiser can damage your jewellery. Vermeil does, however, love to be worn and will shine all the more for it. Leaving jewellery in its box or pouch could cause it to oxidise due to its silver core (like silverware). If you do wish to store it, it is important to do so in a place away from moisture (preferably a small zip-lock bag).
If the vermeil were to tarnish or oxidise slightly, it is possible to restore its shine with a small chamois cloth. Polishing the jewellery with a chamois cloth is in any case recommended on a regular basis to keep your jewellery shining and prevent oxidation.
