Bottega Veneta was born in 1966 in Vicenza and was built on a refusal: that of the logo. While all Italian fashion houses of the time signed their pieces, this one chose to display nothing at all and to place everything in the hands of craftsmanship. Intrecciato — this weaving of fine leather strips interlaced by hand — was born from this constraint, compounded by another, more practical one: the sewing machines of the time damaged the finest leathers, so they were woven rather than stitched.

The result is this texture you can recognise from three metres away without any name appearing. On this pouch, the weave runs across the entire surface in full-grain lambskin — a supple leather, warm to the touch, that follows movement rather than remaining rigid. The matte black brings out its relief, while the gold-tone hardware on the attachment rings warms the overall look with a touch of shine.

It is a remarkably well-proportioned format. Only two centimetres thick: the pouch sits flat against the body when worn crossbody, without ever getting in the way. Inside, integrated card slots eliminate the need to take a wallet — cards slip directly into the bag, freeing up space for a phone, passport, lipstick and keys. The shoulder strap is removable: once removed, the piece becomes an evening clutch again. Made in Italy, serial number B08246997*.

Very good condition, grade B+ — supple leather, Intrecciato weave in good condition, corners in good condition and clean, perfectly functional zip closure, interior in good condition with light signs of previous use.
