The pearl is inseparable from the Chanel universe. Gabrielle Chanel made it one of her house's signatures from the 1920s onwards — worn in multiple strands, as pendants, in earrings — with the revolutionary idea that a faux pearl, if beautiful, is worth as much as a real one. The interlocking CC, meanwhile, has been fashion's most recognisable monogram since 1954. These stud earrings bring them together in a piece of perfect delicacy: the powder pink enamel CC on a gold setting, the round white pearl dangling as a pendant from a gold ring. Made in Italy in 2011, they belong to the house's recent production — consistent quality of execution, jewellery ready to wear.
