Why is it better to use an electric toothbrush rather than a manual one?

This is why an electric toothbrush makes the task easier, providing highly effective brushing by simply moving the toothbrush from one tooth to another. What is sonic technology and how does it differ from conventional electric toothbrushes?

The sonic technology used in MyVariations toothbrushes differs from oscillating-rotating technology (historically more widespread in the toothbrush market). This sonic technology, which may tickle a little at first (it can be surprising!), removes dental plaque very effectively thanks to tens of thousands of small bristle vibrations that reproduce the vertical back-and-forth movement of a well-performed manual brushing. The MyVariations Kids toothbrush is smaller, lighter and has features tailored to children’s specific needs. The movement frequency is lower for even greater gentleness. Like the adult model, the head is fitted with soft nylon bristles; we have also added a rubber section to children’s brush heads for increased safety.

From what age can my child use this toothbrush?

The MyVariations Kids toothbrush is recommended for children from the age of 3 up to around 12 years old. Beyond that, they can switch directly to the adult model! For a child aged 9–10 and over, it is possible to switch directly to the adult model. For a younger child or a baby, we would remind you that dentists recommend that a baby’s teeth be brushed by an adult.

Can Kids brush heads be fitted onto adult handles?

The heads are interchangeable between adult and children’s toothbrushes; however, we do not really recommend it, as children’s toothbrushes are specifically designed for little ones. The head is different, smaller and truly suited to children, but the handle is also lighter, smaller and easier for little hands to hold. 🤗 In addition, the Kids toothbrush brushing modes are designed for young children from the age of 3. Brushing needs to be gentler than for adults: the 2 Kids toothbrush modes are even gentler than the “Sensitive” mode on the adult toothbrush. 😉 This genuinely prevents little ones’ gums and teeth from being exposed to brushing that may be a little too powerful. Finally, children aged 9–10 and over can also switch directly to the adult toothbrush!

Are brush heads from other brands compatible?

Brush heads sold by other brands are not compatible with the MyVariations toothbrush. MyVariations brush heads are fitted with thousands of Dupont nylon bristles, are specially designed to remove dental plaque, and are recommended by UFSBD dentists.

I have sensitive teeth and gums—can I use the MyVariations toothbrush?

Absolutely! The MyVariations toothbrush is 100% suitable for people with sensitive teeth and gums. The 5 different brushing modes allow everyone to find the one that suits them best. We recommend using the sensitive teeth brushing mode (red) to begin with. The toothbrush can also be used in cases of gingivitis/periodontitis. In addition, in the event of tooth and/or gum sensitivity, Sensitive toothpaste can also provide relief.

What are the different brushing modes (adult toothbrush)?

The different modes allow each user to find the one that suits them best, thanks to slightly different vibration frequencies and wider or narrower bristle movements. There are 5:

• White (blue): the most powerful mode, with the highest movement frequency, providing slightly more vigorous cleaning, particularly for people who produce a lot of dental plaque.
• Clean (green): the “normal” mode, with a medium movement frequency, for highly effective cleaning.
• Sensitive (red): slightly less powerful and with the lowest movement frequency, it is particularly suitable for people with especially sensitive gums or teeth; it is even gentler than the other modes while remaining highly effective. 😉
• Polish (flashing blue): this mode “smooths” and polishes the tooth surface to give it even more shine by alternating between the two highest movement frequencies; we recommend using it as a finishing touch, alongside a fixed mode, or occasionally.
• Massage (flashing green): this mode stimulates gum circulation and improves blood flow, thereby “strengthening” the connection between the tooth and gum to prevent gingivitis or, for example, prevent receding gums from returning. 👍

Which toothpaste should be used with the MyVariations Kids electric toothbrush?

Your child’s usual toothpaste may be perfectly suitable, as long as it does not contain alcohol, essential oils, sodium bicarbonate or Lauryl Sulfate. These powerful substances, found in some toothpastes, can damage the brush heads and wear them out. MyVariations Kids toothpaste is also available! A pea-sized amount of toothpaste on the toothbrush and off you go! Brushing can begin.

Is the MyVariations toothbrush quiet?

Where are the toothbrushes made?

MyVariations toothbrushes are made in China. When it launched, the brand sought to manufacture in France; however, there was no factory meeting its requirements for this type of product, and opening its own factory was not feasible at launch. 😔

It therefore developed a partnership with one of the most renowned electric toothbrush manufacturers, based in China, which has over 20 years of experience in this industry, and carried out numerous tests with its first users and dentists to ensure the best experience for its customers. 🤓 More than 6,000 dentists/dental assistants have tested the MyVariations toothbrush to date, with very high satisfaction!

Furthermore, MyVariations toothbrushes have been tested by the UFSBD scientific committee, made up of 12 dentists who are experts in their field, and validated in every respect, both for their effectiveness in removing dental plaque and for the gentleness of brushing. I feel a tickling sensation during the first few brushing sessions—is this normal?

Absolutely, this is a completely normal sensation. Indeed, the sonic technology in our toothbrushes enables ultra-effective brushing without damaging teeth and gums, thanks to 40,000 vibrations per minute; your mouth simply needs to get used to this new brushing method. The tickling sensation disappears after just a few brushing sessions and is quickly replaced by a feeling of ultra-clean teeth!

There is a small gap between the body and the head of my toothbrush—is this normal?

All toothbrushes have a small gap (of a few millimetres) between the body and the brush head. This is completely normal: this gap is there to ensure that the sonic vibrations of the brush head are not reduced by friction with the toothbrush body.

What is the battery life?

The MyVariations toothbrush is fitted with a highly durable battery, with a one-month battery life. You can travel with peace of mind! The Kids toothbrush has a battery life of up to 1 month in Soft mode, and around three and a half weeks in Pulse mode.

What is the warranty policy?

The brand offers its customers a 2-year warranty, in accordance with European regulations. If you subscribe on www.myvariations.com to receive brush heads regularly, the warranty is extended for the entire duration of the subscription (see the terms and conditions on the website).

From what age can the MyVariations toothbrush be used?

It is generally recommended to use the adult MyVariations toothbrush from the age of 9–10, especially if the child is not used to using an electric toothbrush. For younger children, we recommend the Kids toothbrush (from age 3 up to age 12).

How durable are MyVariations toothbrushes and their batteries?

The battery in MyVariations toothbrushes has a one-month battery life (compared with 5 to 14 days for a conventional electric toothbrush). This excellent performance means that the toothbrush only needs charging once every 30 days, reducing the number and frequency of charges. This low charging requirement is highly beneficial for the overall lifespan of the batteries and ensures good longevity! It will therefore take at least several years before the battery begins to show the first very slight signs of weakness: you are set for quite some time!

How do I recharge the toothbrush?

To recharge your MyVariations toothbrush, simply open the small rubber flap underneath the toothbrush (using your fingernail or a small flat object) to connect the charging cable to the toothbrush port. Leave the toothbrush to charge for 3–4 hours for a full charge, and you are ready to go again for a month of battery life! Remember to close the flap properly after charging to restore the toothbrush’s waterproofing!

Can I use the MyVariations toothbrush in the shower?

Absolutely! MyVariations toothbrushes are waterproof, so you can use them in the shower without any worries. However, make sure to close the charging flap properly to maintain waterproofing, and dry them thoroughly after use to prevent any cosmetic damage to the toothbrush.
