Confiture Parisienne loves taking you into uncharted territory with recipes that seem classic at first, but have that one little ingredient that adds an "extra something”.

We offer you a fig jam and... blackcurrant bud pepper. All French, of course, and made in our Paris kitchen, as always!

A jam that works just as well in the morning as well as on your toast first thing in the morning orat mealtimes with a cheeseboard cheeses.

But what exactly is blackcurrant bud pepper ? It’s a spice made from powdered blackcurrant buds. Used this way, the buds don’t have the sweet taste of blackcurrant but add a slightly peppery note while retaining the slight tartness of blackcurrant.

This spice, with its woody and floral notes, lifts the rounded flavour of the (very) large pieces of fig for a unique, irresistible recipe.
