Description & history

Harnesses, bridles and saddlery elements on a dark background, in a black-green-red-yellow palette — this vintage Céline silk scarf is a strong graphic piece, in the tradition of the large equestrian scarves of Parisian luxury.

The saddlery pattern is one of the great classics of the French luxury scarf — a visual language borrowed from the equestrian world, made of intertwined harnesses, straps and metal buckles, which structures the surface of the scarf with almost architectural precision. At Céline, this register takes a particularly graphic turn: the colors are frank, the contrasts strong, the composition dense without ever being overloaded. This vintage design embodies that balance — deep black, intense green, red and pops of yellow that flow together on the surface like a luxury wallpaper pattern.

Silk — 100%, made in Italy — gives the square its characteristic drape and amplifies the richness of the colors. Hand-rolled edges are the technical detail that separates real house squares from the rest: a regular, manual finish that edges each side with a care that the machine cannot reproduce. The 87 × 87 cm size is generous — large enough to drape the shoulders, tie a loose volume around the neck or dress up a bag handle with character.
