Description & history

A leopard nestled in tropical vegetation, against a deep burgundy background — this Ferragamo silk scarf is an illustration in its own right, the kind of piece you notice before you even know where it comes from.

Ferragamo has always treated the scarf as an artistic medium in its own right. Where other houses play on the repetition of monograms, the Florentine house constructs scenes — narrative compositions inspired by nature, travel, exotic fauna. This vintage model is a direct example: a resting leopard, framed by a dense jungle in green and bluish tones, on a burgundy background which gives the whole thing an almost pictorial depth. The result is a square that you look at before wearing it.

Silk — 100% — does the rest. Light, fluid, with a natural drape that structures without constraining, the fabric amplifies the richness of the print and makes it easier to wear. The 85 × 85 cm are the ideal size: large enough for a loose stole on the shoulders or a generous bow at the neck, compact enough to slip through the hair or hang on a bag handle without weighing down the silhouette.
