Technical specifications:

Travertine is a type of limestone deposited by mineral springs, particularly hot springs. It is heavy in weight and light in color, lending a high degree of exclusivity to furniture and decorative items made from it. Travertine is considered a fire-resistant and heat-resistant material.

Manufacturing/processing process:

Once the blocks are extracted from the quarry, they undergo further processing to suit their intended use. Here, the stone blocks are stored and then cut into slabs to continue the furniture-making process. The travertine slabs are then sharpened and sandblasted according to the design requirements. Finally, a water-based varnish is applied to protect the surface.

Types of common imperfections:

Tiny spaces are left between individual grains or crystals, forming pores.

Among the imperfections, we can distinguish:

Variations in colour, variations in veins, variations in texture, variations in grain which is more or less smooth, in roughness.

Interview :

To clean your travertine furniture, mild soap or a pH-neutral soap is the best option. Dampen a microfiber cloth with warm water and mild soap. Then clean the surface of your travertine furniture using circular motions. Finally, wipe thoroughly with a dry cloth.
