Heishi pearls are at the top of the summer trend. Whether you choose to use natural tones, or rather bright colors, they allow you to create little jewels in the blink of an eye to wear all summer long.

Good news! These pearls are compatible with swimming in the sea, chlorine in the swimming pool, etc. They are made of polymer clay, a solid and durable material, dyed in the mass.

Where do Heishi pearls come from?

Heishi pearls (pronounced hii-chi) originate from New Mexico, and mean "shell". These small washers were originally made of shell and natural stones. Santo Domingo sculptors make heishi beads by taking the raw material, then cutting it into small strips. The tiny squares are then drilled individually. Threaded all together, they are then sanded to round their shape and make pretty little discs. Long-term artisanal work! These artisan sculptors then create magnificent traditional necklaces and ornaments.

The beads that we offer you are made industrially, which allows for a low price and very fine washers. However, the thickness of the pearl may vary slightly.
