Ficus Lyrata – Houseplant

Are you familiar with the fiddle-leaf fig? This Ficus lyrata is an attractive and easy-to-care-for green plant. It owes its name to its oval canopy, which resembles a violin. Its leaves have a wavy edge, a glossy dark green upper surface and a light green underside. It grows vigorously and sometimes needs staking – a bamboo cane can come in handy. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this could scorch its leaves. We recommend positioning it approximately 2 to 3 metres from a window, provided it is north-facing (requiring 3 to 5 hours of sunlight per day). - Maintenance: Do not overwater the ficus, as this can cause root rot.
