Description & history

This vintage Yves Saint Laurent necklace is an archive piece as romantic as it is powerful — the large gold-plated heart pendant, adorned with the handwritten signature "Yves Saint Laurent" engraved in cursive and a heart in relief in the center, is an object of rare intensity which carries with it all the sensitivity and audacity of the couturier.

Yves Saint Laurent had a deep and recurring relationship with the heart - a motif of passion, assumed vulnerability and feminine strength, he runs through his work from couture to jewelry like a personal leitmotif. This pendant is the most direct and intimate expression: the designer's handwritten signature engraved in cursive on the gold metal transforms each piece into an object signed by his hand, almost a work of art to wear.

The jaseron link chain – round and supple mesh characteristic of French jewelry – gives the necklace a fluid movement and an elegant lightness which contrasts with the volume of the pendant (4 × 4.5 cm). The extension chain allows you to adjust the length between 65 and 71 cm to adapt to all necklines and all outfits. The YSL hallmark, engraved on the back of the pendant and on the bail, discreetly authenticates this exceptional piece.

In excellent general condition — grade A− — the gold plating is uniform and perfectly preserved, with no defects to report. A piece signed "Yves Saint Laurent" from before the 2012 rebranding, in rare condition for a vintage jewel.
